Handmade flower
Paper Pieced
Woven Background

October 16, 2005
My daughter-in-law, Shawna, and I took Zack, Lexi, and Forest (5) to the ocean.  Todd was working this day and we missed him.  What an awesome day we had climbing on the rocks, collecting seashells, and checking out every tide pool we could find.    Forest was the only one willing to hold the sand crab that was still in the shell and it walked around on his hand.  At the end of the day we stopped at a pumpkin patch on Highway 1 and got some pumpkins.

This is a shaker card with sand and shells inside of it with a photo of our beach trip.

This was my first attempt at a shaker card.  I like the way the card turned out, but the shaker part of it wasn't done exactly right.  The mounting tape between the acetate and the image was not thick enough, so it really didn't shake very well.
But, that's how we learn, right?  Trial and error...especially in the card-making world!  So, when you goof, don't give up, just learn and do it better the next time!  :)
