HAPPY BIRTHDAY SKYLER!

Today my grandson, Skyler, turned 14!  Wow he's getting so big and maturing so fast.  He'll be in high school next year!  WoW!!!

He is learning how to play the electric guitar and so that's what inspired this card.

Well, I finally figured out why the digital images I made had a gray background after posting them here. 

For those of you who want to know how to change this, you have to go into your Google photo settings and turn OFF photo enhancing.  It's taken me two days to finally figure this out.

ACRYLIC BLOCK STAMPING:

This is a new background technique I decided to try.  You ink up your different shaped acrylic blocks with Distress Ink and use them as a stamp on photo paper.  Then I added some stamps and clouds to the card.  I've been having fun with this technique.  

One thing to remember when stamping on photo paper though:
DO NOT USE ACRYLIC STAMPS ON PHOTO PAPER. 

 I read this somewhere and they really didn't say why, but until I read about it more, or find out otherwise, I'll take their advice.  There must be a reason for it...I'm thinking maybe something to do with the polymer in the stamp reacting with the chemicals on the photo paper?  If anyone knows, please let me know.

The large dragon fly is called "Whimsical Dragonfly #A2379E" and is made by Rubber Stampede.

The smaller dragonfly is called "Dragonfly Border" and is made by Katie & Co.  There are actually 3 of them on the stamp, but I cut one off and I can use it as a single stamp, or attach it back on and use it as a border.

Here's a couple more card I made using the ACRYLIC BLOCK STAMPING technique.  

The horse stamp is made by Inkadinkado.

I actually made a little boo boo in the upper left corner of the stamped image, so I added the leaves to cover it up.  Surprise, surprise, I like it this way!!!

The little leaves were some that I picked up at Michaels Craft Store years ago and never used.

Yep, so there's hope for all those little things we've been collecting for years for our cards and wonder if we'll ever get to them!!!

EMBOSSING ON TIN FOIL:

My friend Larry's birthday is today!
A few weeks ago he bought a motorbike and the first day on it had a little accident and got hurt.  So, of course, I HAD to make him a motorcycle card!!!  But he's doing better now and is somewhat getting back to the land of the living.

I've seen a lot of different ways that people emboss tin foil, but the way I do it is to put a little glue around the edge of a piece of card stock and glue the tin foil to it and then run it through the embossing folder.  That way the card underneath the tin foil is embossed as well and the tin foil will hold its shape.

This card and the next two are more of the ACRYLIC BLOCK STAMPING technique.

This is another way you can use your Happy Birthday Cuddlebug Folder and/or many other embossing folders as well.  I did one also with the Swiss Dots and it came out really nice too.
